„Shaked Salad“ for Two with Ranch Dressing

Looking for a fresh, crunchy salad idea with a Mexican twist? Our „Shaked Salad“ creation is not just fun to make but also a delightful culinary experience. Packed with vibrant veggies, creamy avocado, and the rich taste of Mex-Al Ranch Dressing, this recipe is quick, healthy, and flavorful. All it takes is a good shake – and you’re ready to enjoy!

Ingredients:

For the salad:

  • 1 cup mixed greens (e.g., romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, or arugula)
  • 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup roasted corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced cucumber
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped red onion
  • 1/2 avocado, diced
  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tbsp crispy tortilla strips or toasted pumpkin seeds (optional)

For the Ranch Dressing:

  • 1 1/2 tbsp Mex-Al Ranch Dressing Mix
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (Greek yogurt for extra creaminess)
  • 1 tbsp milk (adjust to desired consistency)
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Black pepper to taste
Preparation:
  1. Prepare the Ranch Dressing:
    In a small bowl, mix the Mex-Al Ranch Dressing Mix with plain yogurt, milk, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy. Season with black pepper to taste.
  2. Assemble the salad:
    Add the mixed greens, red cabbage, corn, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and cilantro to a large bowl with a lid.
  3. Add the dressing:
    Pour the Ranch Dressing over the salad ingredients in the bowl.
  4. Shake it up:
    Secure the lid tightly and shake the bowl vigorously for 10–15 seconds until all the ingredients are well coated with the dressing.
  5. Top with avocado and garnish:
    Remove the lid and place the diced avocado on top of the salad. Garnish with tortilla strips or toasted pumpkin seeds if desired.
  6. Serve and enjoy:
    Divide the salad into two servings and pair it with your favorite drink.
Additional Notes:
  • Add the avocado last to prevent it from getting smashed during shaking.
  • For a heartier version, include strips of chicken or fish before shaking.
  • Feel free to customize the salad with cheese, olives, or other favorite toppings.
  • You can vary the dressing by substituting buttermilk for the milk and lemon and adding a dash of crème fraîche. Add a teaspoon of honey to bring it to perfection.
