Black bean hummus

Beans are native to Mexico and, together with corn, are one of the most important ingredients in Mexican cuisine. They are included in most traditional Mexican dishes and can be easily incorporated into all sorts of international recipes. This time we wanted to give black beans a new twist and created this "Black Bean Hummus", which is not the traditional refried beans, but an interpretation of a "Mexican style" hummus.

Ingredients:

2 cloves of garlic

2 cans whole black beans á 560g, drained

2 tablespoons tahina (sesame seed paste)

juice of half a lemon

1 teaspoon cumin

1/8 teaspoon ground chile chipotle or to taste

3 tablespoons plain yogurt (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste

Preparation:

Place garlic cloves in food processor and finely mince. Add black beans and puree. Add remaining ingredients (it is recommended to start with less and increase as desired) and blend until smooth. Taste and add more seasoning as needed. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Can be served with tortilla chips.
