Nopal (cactus) smoothie

While in our latitudes, the cactus is known as a popular houseplant, in Mexico they are not only popular as a decorative element, but also as a staple food. In fact, "Nopales" (Cactus) have been consumed in Mexico since prehispanic times and are an essential part of Mexican cuisine. In Mexico, "Nopales" are used in stews, grilled, in salads, mixed with eggs or simply in sauces. Raw and also in powder form (dehydrated), they are used in smoothies and ice cream, and are also excellent as a baking ingredient.

For one smoothie you need:

100g pineapple

1/2 avocado

65g cucumber

1 teaspoon of @mexal Nopal powder

Honey or agave syrup to taste

1-2 tablespoons white almond butter (optional to make it sweeter and creamier)

Ice to taste

To serve:

Tajin (chili powder) and 1 lemon.

Simply crush everything well in the blender, moisten the rim of the glass with a lime slice, then press in the chili powder (Tajin), serve and enjoy!
